Halloween is approaching, and MTR Mall is launching its first-ever collaborative Halloween experience this year, spanning five malls across Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, and the New Territories — from THE SOUTHSIDE’s quirky and humorous ‘Fear Festival’ on Hong Kong Island, to围方’s local ghost legends, Tsing Yi City’s sci-fi interstellar ‘Alien Buddies,’ and the day-and-night festivities at Tseung Kwan O’s PopCorn and The LOHAS. Each mall offers its own unique charm, delivering endless festive experiences. Whether you want to test your courage, embark on a space adventure, or dance the night away, you’ll discover entirely different surprises at MTR Mall and begin your own Halloween adventure!

Mr. Tang Chi Fai David, Executive Director – Property & International Business of MTR CORPORATION, said that MTR Mall leverages its ‘Rail + Community’ advantage, aligning with the SAR Government’s event economy strategy, to launch its first-ever MTR Mall Halloween event this year. Malls including THE SOUTHSIDE and围方 are collaborating to offer themed decorations and immersive activities. MTR Mall also utilizes its convenient network to launch a cross-district ‘stamp collection’ initiative, encouraging residents and tourists to take the MTR and explore various districts, fully revitalizing the surrounding consumption chain. In the future, MTR Mall will regularly host music and cultural events to drive foot traffic and create economic benefits for merchants.

围方 'HalloWAI x Hong Kong Ghost Stories' - Five Photo Spots Gathering Ghosts from Across Hong Kong

The urban legends whispered in alleyways and streets will quietly awaken at围方! From October 2 to October 31,围方 collaborates with local creative brand ‘Pork Belly Sticker’ to create five photo spots themed around ‘Hong Kong Ghost Stories,’ featuring 50 types of Hong Kong ghosts, inviting brave adventurers to embark on an exploration journey and step into eerie scenes previously only heard through word of mouth.

Step into the L2 atrium, where a 5.5-meter-tall giant fox spirit suddenly appears, commanding the entire space with its powerful aura. Urban legend characters such as the Braided Girl, Lotus Pond Ghost, and Aberdeen White Tiger gather together to create a fantastical and quirky photo spot. Move to the L4 event space, instantly transported to the haunted scenes of Police Station No. 7 and Tat Tak School. Mysterious sounds occasionally echo around you, while eerie TVs silently observe from all angles; looking up, mysterious school uniforms hang from tree branches, and grotesque windows unexpectedly appear, immersing you in urban legends with an atmosphere that quickens your heartbeat.

At the L2 outdoor garden, the ‘Blue Field Water Demon vs. Colorful Dragon’ light-and-shadow battle dramatically unfolds, presenting a fantastical scene of water and fire clashing. The mysterious ambiance extends to the L4 outdoor garden, where the Bing Tou Garden stone beasts release dreamy mist on weekends, adding an extra layer of mystery amid the fog. Move to the L5 event space, where a classic cinema scene is recreated, transporting you back to the golden age of film. During this time, keep an eye out for the elusive ‘friends’ who may suddenly appear, offering unexpected surprises; the vintage weighing scale nearby adds a nostalgic touch to this journey.

During the event,围方 specially launches the ‘Hong Kong Ghost Stories’ MTR Mobile badge collection activity. Starting October 5, visitors need only collect 15 event-exclusive badges around the mall to redeem a physical ‘HalloWAI x Hong Kong Ghost Stories’ sticker set and a围方 e-coupon set. Starting mid-October, on every weekend and public holiday, ghost characters will step out of their scenes to meet visitors up close and parade around, guiding everyone through the world of local ghost tales. On October 17 and 31, special ‘Ghostly Beautiful’ surprise awards will be given, along with the ‘Fox’ Misbehavior Party by local breakdance group Good Job Brother, elevating the festive atmosphere to its peak and immersing everyone in a mysterious yet distinctly local Halloween experience.
